Drill-free dentistry sounds a bit too good to be true, doesn’t it? At Rustington Dental Care we use Healozone, an advanced treatment that often does not require an injection.

Healozone is a preventative treatment that enables us to target tooth decay with ozone, which naturally destroys bacteria within about five seconds and works by breaking up bacteria cells.

We use a small laser to look inside your teeth to detect areas of bacteria that cause decay. A special hand piece is then used to put ozone onto the decayed area. The process is simple and painless. Where the decay is very small there is no drilling, fillings or damage to your tooth and in most cases no injection is  required. If the decay has already damaged a larger area of tooth then we may need to place a tooth-coloured filling to repair the defect after the ozone therapy.

Once the bacteria has been eliminated, we put a special liquid mineral onto the cleaned area of decay. This starts the healing part of the tooth’s treatment. We also give you a special toothpaste and mouth rinse, which contain all the essential minerals that your body needs to repair the decayed area.

Ozone therapy provides a treatment with benefits for dental patients of all ages and for a wide range of conditions. It can also be used in deep cavities, during root canal treatment, for sensitive teeth and for soft tissue conditions such as cold sores and ulcers.
