Testimonials

I have received Dental treatment from Susan Burr for over 30 years. Over those years I have received numerous types of treatment from her i.e. Fillings, crowns, root canal treatment, veneers etc…I feel that she carries out her dentistry with the utmost care and professionalism which has given my teeth a much longer lease of life. The treatment that Susan provides is carried out with the greatest of care and is completely painless and I never feel any apprehension when having to visit her for treatment.

In my opinion Susan Burr is an excellent dentist. Before I came to her, past experiences had made me very nervous of even a check up. When I first came to Susan my teeth were in need of a great deal of treatment. I had always gone to regular dentist appointments but the care I received had obviously not been the best. Over the past few years I have had extensive work carried out by Susan, including root canal fillings, crowns, veneers etc. All this work has been carried out with great skill and gentle care. I now feel proud of my teeth and myself confidence has grown enormously and I now no longer feel nervous when having to visit the dentist.

I moved to Rustington Dental Care centre about 10 years ago and have nothing but praise for the quality of the practice and the excellent treatment I have received from David Burr.

Starting with an incomplete and well filled/crowned set of teeth, David has kept everything in good order, with no pain during the treatment.
David also organised an implant done 6 years ago(to replace a missing section of teeth) which went very well and has performed perfectly since.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the practice to colleagues.

I have had extensive cosmetic work over the last year and have been very pleased with the results. I can now smile without being embarrassed. The work took place over many weeks and during this time Mr Burr and his staff were extremely professional and helpful. The work was top quality and I have no hesitation in recommending the practice.

To Sue Burr

I am writing this letter to you because I feel that due to the hard work you have done with me and my 2 girls regarding our teeth it would be nice to have it go public.

My daughter Sarah was terrified of the dentist because she didn’t like the thought of injections. When she was 14 she was told by her dentist that she would need fillings and her baby teeth extracted, and if she didn’t have the treatment she would lose all of her teeth. When she went back to have the work done they explained that an injection would be needed, as Sarah had not had to have any treatment before on her teeth this frightened her and she was scared to have the injection. Unfortunately we left without the work being done, a few months went by and we tried again but to no avail and Sarah wouldn’t even sit in the chair. The dentist then referred her to another dentist in which she would be semi sedated, however once again when we got there Sarah again would not get in the chair because even sedation meant having an injection, she was so upset and couldn’t go through with it, it was very distressing for both of us and by now the dentist said they wouldn’t treat her.

As time went on Sarah was now suffering with tooth ache and possible going to lose the teeth if not treated, it was a worrying time but still Sarah would not go, it was getting to desperation because Sarah was not going to school because she was too ill. I had no one to turn to because by now she was struck off the NHS and 2 years had passed and no-one wanted to know…except for Sue. I was given her number by my dad and I phoned Sue, she asked me to bring her along to see her, so i did. Sue took her upstairs and talked to her, Sarah would not sit in the chair and Sue didn’t push it, she just talked to her about her teeth and explained to Sarah what would happen, anyway Sarah wouldn’t let Sue do anything that week, however on the way home Sarah said she liked Sue and said she wanted to go back, she was pleased that Sue explained everything to her.

The following week we went back and Sue asked if she could look in her mouth and to my surprise Sarah sat in the chair and let Sue look in her mouth and also took pictures of her teeth and then explained to her what was needed to be done and showed he the pictures of her teeth. Sue also said she would start with the small job first instead of saying this need doing and if you don’t have it done you’ll lose your teeth. Sue was very positive and understanding to Sarah’s needs and made her feel at ease. Sue said she would save some teeth and that her wisdom teeth were coming though which meant they would fill the gaps. Sue didn’t give her an injection to start with but some gel that numbed the gum; this made Sarah trust in Sue and when Sarah came out of the dentist she was very happy. Two weeks later we were back and this time Sarah had an injection and had the first lot of treatment, I couldn’t believe it. After two years of worry finally Sarah was being treated, Sue also phoned the next day to see how Sarah was which I thought was so nice of Sue to do and shows how caring Sue is. From then on Sarah was back and forth to Sue and a year and half later Sarah has finished her treatment and has teeth to be proud of. She had 3 extractions on large teeth, 4 fillings and all her baby teeth extracted. Sarah is so much more confident in herself and is now not afraid of the dentist. I really can’t thank Sue enough for the help and understanding and patients she gave to my daughter.

It doesn’t end there because I decided as Sue was so good to Sarah I signed my youngest daughter Rachel with her and Sue worked wonders. Rachel’s teeth were good compared to Sarah’s, however her teeth were crooked and she needed to have braces on her teeth. To do this it also meant Rachel would have to have a tooth out, this Sue did, as she did this Sue realised that it was a difficult tooth to come out but Sue reassured Rachel and got on with the job. Rachel didn’t feel a thing and recovered well. Sue then referred Rachel to an orthodontist and within no time was being fitted with braces. Rachel had braces on for 2 years and now at 17 has beautiful teeth.

I myself have had treatment with Sue and am very happy with the treatment I have received; Sue doesn’t rush you, she understands if you are worried and is always on the end of the phone.

Sue has made a big difference to me and my girls and I would recommend her to anyone who wants a good dentist. Sue will always explain and show you what she is going to do and it’s your choice if you decide or not, Sue does not push you into something you’re not comfortable with.

Sue also has all the latest equipment and is very hot on cleanliness, the nurses that Sue also has working for her are very friendly and are always cleaning the work tops/stations and changing gloves and sterilising equipment. Sue has a place to be proud of and I thank her very much for all her help and support she has given my family and the great team she has working for her.

Thank you
